Sticking my neck out here but iirc they are all the same.  ::)

The Boy always say to buy new but I picked one up from the breakers for a fiver and it worked a treat on our manual DTi  :y

The only difference is the 2.5 TD which is a completely different wiring spec and only comes in automatic. Check the bloke is looking up the right one.

I hope that wasn't complete tosh  :-? I'd be inclined to try a cheapy from the scrappers first.

Only 2 different stalks:

2 wire one purely for the 2.5TD BMW unit
4 wire one for all others.

Makes no different is manual/auto etc.

If a manual, you may need a clutch switch (some have them, some dont), and if a non DBW unit, make need a 4 pin brake switch.

HTH

There will be an electrical wiring loom and connector to a gubbins on the side of the 'butterfly' part of the intake instead of a Bowden cable - same as the brake cable on a standard push bike - so should be relatively obvious.     :y

As yours in an automatic, don't worry about it. When you go to get the cruise enabled you could ask them whilst your there. :)

Quite correct!  Glad you spotted the evenings deliberate mistake.  Award yourself 10 bonus points..... :-[

Instead of a control cable passing to the pump from the accelerator pedal, there is an electrical connection which......  awww  you get the gist....   ;)

And I've just noticed my 'deliberate' mistake of last night and tonight. When you said, 'mines a manual', I obviously took that to mean you had an automatic, an easy mistake to make I'm sure you'll agree and once again reminds me that I don't know what the fook I'm talking about.

Apologies.  :-[
