Title: A rolling stone...
Post by: Markjay on 21 October 2006, 16:44:01
..gathers no moss.

Or so they say.

But my car does.  :o

The rubber around the four corners of sunroof resembles a barn roof - it is green... Not sure what to do about it without damaging the rubber or the paintwork. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Didn't happen with my previous 'meega which I ran for three years.

Try cleaning off with white vinegar.

I don't have a drive  >:( , my street is full of trees, and in this place if you chop down a council tree you go to prison for a long time... And then you go on the Tree Offenders Register for life.

AA - I am surprised that you didn't suggest that I park upside down with the wheels in the air to protect the sunroof...  ;D

Well I did use the windscreen washers while the roof was open, not a pleasant experience...

Or when the car was new the sunroof was opening and closing on it's own, again not very pleasant when you’re driving down the motorway on a rainy day. This one was sorted by Vx under warranty.

And once I forgot the sunroof open while parked near a building site, only to found the leather seats covered in a thick layer of fine chalky dust...

Still, I mustn’t complain, the main reason I went for the CDX over the CD was the sunroof. I don't actually open it that much, but I like the airy feeling in the cabin due to the glass roof. And I stick my SatNav on it rather than on the windscreen - perfect reception.

I dont have a drive either  :(
Parking is such a premium around here......we have curtain twichers......as one car moves out....and a space created another car magically appears in it!

I gave up trying to find a space last night....and left it on double yellows.....i wont be happy if theres a ticket on it this morning.

MJ....try using an old discarded toothbrush and give it a gentle scrub......shud be soft enough not to do any damage.
