Title: Cruise control - clutch swith.
Post by: Chopsdad on 22 October 2006, 11:42:14
Just swapped indicator stalk on my Omega with cruise buttons from a 2.2 Vectra.  As promised by you guys it was a doddle and completed in 5 mins.

Took it to friendly mechanic to have system enabled but wouldn't work - cheapskates at Vauxhall haven't fitted a clutch switch so thinks clutch pedal is depressed and knocks it off before it begins.

Easy to fix and I'll fit one next week but thought it might be helpful for any one else fitting cruise upgrade to know.

Seems to be hit or miss as to whether clutch switch is fitted, so always worth checking. In my experience, it seems to be 50:50 on petrols, and very likely on diesels (across Vx range, not just Omegas)

As a short term fix you can simply short the wires to the clutch switch together....just dont press the clutch when the cruise is on (the revs will slowly rise so its not to big an issue!)
