Sorry for another silly question

But how will i know if the 3.0 cams are 3.0 cams and what ones are inlet and what ones are exhaust?

Simple....RTMS.....Read The Maintenance Section!

V6 camshaft Identification (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152565319)

Probably going to get flamed again ;)

But on that guide are 2.5 and 3.0 exhaust cams identical in lift and duration or just same colour markings?

Thanks and sorry teacher  ;) :)

The C25XE (early V6 fitted to Cavalier and Calibra) has the same exhaust cams as the X30XE (Omega engine), the 2.5V6 in the Omega is the X25XE and hence you need to change both inlet and exhaust.

From experience, its much easier to identify the camshafts from the stamped letters than the paint dots.
