I have a vibration which increases with speed, it's through the whole car, not the wheels, you can start to feel it at around 70 mph, it then gets worse the faster you go, quite irritating above 80. It feels like the propshaft or a driveshaft to me, pretty sure it's not a wheel ballance issue.
Anyone else had a similar problem ?
Are the propshaft joints replaceable or is it a whole prop job ?
Thanks

It could be the propshaft, there is a rubber mounted bearing in the middle and a universal joint, either could lead to vibration if worn, the flexi couplings at either end of the propshaft have a central spigot to maintain alignment so its unlikely to be those.
I would still go with wheel balance though. The balancing machines have two modes of operation, if they used the simple mode then it leaves the smaller side-side out of balance uncorrected which becomes more noticable at speed. Have a look on the wheel in motion site, Im sure its explained there so you would know what to ask for when taking it back.
Also check the steering idler arm bush for wear.

Is it just a vibration or is there any noise associated with it?
What about the shocks / wheel bearings?

No noise, just a general mild shaking of the whole car. I'm going to check the rear wheel balance and take a look at the propshaft, not sure how that's gonna fit in with doing the clutch, shimming the LSD and fixing the aircon, but that's all part of the fun I guess.....
Oh yeah, and fixing the rear window winder :(

I would suggest having the wheels balanced and tracking done before any major expediture on other items.

I've had this problem before and it turned out to be a bulge in a tyre - inside wall so not particularly easy to spot. Maybe worth a quick nosey around if you have not done so already

Well if its any help to you, you will need to disconnect the driveshaft when you come to change the clutch as it connects onto the back of the gearbox.
