Title: HELP. Problems with connecting breather system
Post by: zealious on 03 November 2006, 00:47:26
hey, i wasnt the one who took it apart and now i have to put it together.

I dont know where this hose goes

It connects to the top of the fuel pressure regulator.

And this one.

Which can actualy bee seen in the top right of the first pic. It comes off the throtle houseing and looks like its a vacume tube.

could it be that these two hoses are suposed to be connected?

thanks.
And then i got a queston about the breather tubes on the back of the pelnum i have 5 (automatic) not sure which goes where

its a bad picture but basicly the one that doesnt look like it should connect is zip tied to the breather tubing and is a dark shiny black, def then the other 4 houses.

any help would be grand.

OK, the first white(ish) colour (spelt properly ;)) hose should go to the rubber hose that connects to the idle valve on the right hand side of the plenum (on most cars this pipe is black and part of the same hose moulding).

On the breathers at the rear of the plenum its fairly obvious, the two larger ones connect to the outside connections, the auto box one (larger and slightly plastic in appearance) just hangs freely and the two smaller ones are as follows:

left hand one is for the breather pipe which connects to the box on the 1,3,5 head (passenger side in US) and the right hand one is from the carbon canister purge valve (mounted near the coolant bridge)

Heh, ive been driving without the whiteish hose connected. Seems like the rpm just fluctuate a lot at idle. well see what happends when its connected.
