ok guys and possibly girls my 1995 elite v6 auto has a problem when i move off , when i engage drive and accelerate the rear shudders and bangs and then kicks in and we can move ,im sure if i looked at the rear wheels i would see them bounce about on the road ,
this happends when TC is on or off
Any suggestions???????????????????

tried taking the handbrake off?
:o
Sorry, no ideas

Does it then drive normally?
-
Handbrake shoes sticking? If so, see Maintenence Guides section for how to service them.
-
handbrake is off i never use them unlesssssss going round corners ;)
yeh once moving the juddering goes away, then when you stop at the lights or a junction and try to move she judders again ?

Rear wheel bearings?
Could be "seizing" while you are stationary.
With the Toque of the engine it could be enough to free them again.

Could it be the pads in the caliper are not freeing causing the shuddering. :)

I had a similar thing with a Granada, turned out to be the prop shaft donut?

I'm thinking something in drivetrain as well...

I'm either on the wrong track here or isn't this the easy way of checking whether it is a drivetrain or seizing problem
find hill - point car down hill, stop as you would normally, then leave it in neutral and see if it rolls down the hill. If something is seizing with brakes etc I'd expect it to happen so you will not move. On the other hand if it rolls freely then suspect drivetrain.

Seems logical.

Remember, even in neutral, the wheels, half shafts, diff, propshaft, and most of gearbox are still going to be rotating....

Seized brake caliper?
If it is it will be nice and hot if you have a (careful) feel after a drive.
