Title: Reluctant to start
Post by: The Barge Captain on 01 December 2006, 00:37:54
My 2.5 Barge is becoming unwilling to start in the mornings. Turns over no problem but doesn't catch. Back the key off and try again and after a few turns she starts OK. Any time after starts almost instantly.  I'm thinking fuel relay/pump or maybe loosing system pressure overnight.  No smell of petrol, no error lights just no go initially.
Any ideas?

My elderly 2.5, is the same especially in the cooler months, summer is no problem at all.  What I normally do is turn on ignition and wait about 5 seconds then turn key further to start, works that way for me, its probably fuel related ie pressure drop, but as its only a mild inconvenience I wont be putting my mechanics hat on.

Fuel pressure is what i am thinking, only started happening in the last couple of weeks though.
