Title: All those pipes!
Post by: ianrobbo on 07 December 2006, 23:38:21
I appear to have a spare rubber pipe at the back of the engine (facelift 2.5V6) - can't figure out where it should go, but I seem to recall reading a post ages ago (probably on the other forum) saying that there is some kind of a breather back there.

Is this right, or will finding the pipe's rightful home fix the misfire?

Is yours an Auto? Sounds like a gearbox breather....

In which case, it SHOULD be off...

The only think that would really cause bad running would be a losoe vaccum pipe, but that would result in more loss of power and /or over revving, rather than mis firing.

Where are you located?

James, thanks for the reply, yes it is an auto, now you mention that it does ring a bell.

There are no marks on the end of the pipe where any kind of a clip has been fitted in the past, so I'm sure you're right.

Located in Sussex, BTW. I'll update the profile.
