Title: Intermittent Miss.
Post by: Pete Elite on 08 December 2006, 01:06:42
Hi all,
My 96 3.0L  Elite has got an intermittent miss.

On tick over it's fine and if you use light throttle movements it builds up speed ok but as soon as you rapidly increase throttle it misses badly.

This lasts for some time at which point you could throttle her up and it fine again.

Any ideas as to the probable cause :question.

 Cheers,
           Pete :).

Remove and check each plug lead, one by one, and make sure there's no oil in the plug wells. A very common cause of intermittent misfires!

Also - spark plugs problems, air/vacum leak, blocked fuel filter, dirty injectors...

Also make sure the spark plugs are torqued down properly
