Title: 2.2 Running Temp
Post by: tunnie on 20 December 2006, 16:47:36
A while ago i posted about my running temp because someone was asking about their V6 running hot, just to clarify this is what my 2.2 runs at temp wise:

Normal motoway cruise, around 82/3 ish... The needle sits fractionly above 80 and never moves on a motorway run.

In town (stop start) goes up to 90. Never goes above that though, 90 is as high as it goes.

Takes around 5 mins to heat up usually just under 80, then running normally slightly above,  :y

Urmmmmmmmmm yea !!
Mine heats up quite quick, normal temp at 84-85, motorway sits at 84-85 and around town ocassionaly hits approx 91-92 when the fans roar in to life and VERY quickly bring temp down to 84-85 again

My MV6 runs around 94 ish.  In this cold snap, its around 92.5.  Once it reaches around 96, fans bring it down...

v6 runs hotter - thats why midpoint on gauge is 95, as opposed to 85 on those missing to cylinders...

Sounds good to me Tunnie  :y

Mine has been sitting at 82 ish on the motorway the last couple of days....but then its hardly been above 0C outside .....usually sits at 85C on warmish days on the motorway

90 is usual for mine doing town work.......once saw it hit 95C but was in summer when outside was about 30C

So nothing wrong with your thermostat it appears  :)

My 2.2 running Temp' is also the same as yours, just taking a bit longer than normal to warm up with this cold snap.
Cheers
