Has anybody ever replaced the bearing in the auxillary drive belt tensioner ? Mine sounds slightly rough and i have a new correct size bearing lying about in my workshop, only it seems a bit reluctant to drift out, and i don't want to break the pulley trying.
Is it replaceable?

Have you tried re-greasing it?

A proper press might be better or various suitably sized sockets and a large vice tp press it out.
I did as BoBo suggests though. I carefully prised the seal from the bearing and repacked it, it was practically dry.

The plastic is moulded around the bearing so it cant be removed.....repack it if dry, replace if rough....not hugely pricey new (25 quid?)

Surely that depends how hard you hit it or how much pressure you use to press it out. ;)

Considering that just the bearing will be £10 at the most it's not hugely cheap either.

Already got a bearing 6203 just need to try and fit it. Never keen on prising seals off of bearings though.

Just don't bend it while you're removing it. They usually go back in quite easily though.

Mark and I have just spent a week rebuilding an engine after the aux tensioner pulley failed...plastic outer broke up, shredded the aux belt and a flailing bit of belt then got into the cambelt cover and derailed the cambelt. Result...bent valves.
The bearing cannot be changed, the plastic pulley is moulded around it.
I used to ease out the seals, wash out bearing and regrease. After the recent experience I would fit a new pulley....its much cheaper and easier than a top-end rebuild.

Seals prised out quite easily. Bearing dry but not rough, so regreased and rebuilt.
Your experience sounds like a terrible piece of bad luck mate :(
