Hi all
I'm still enjoying my new 2.5 v6 (N-reg) Omega.
For anyone that caught my last thread I got the new cruise stalk, so now both that and the display is working fine.
I have discovered one more minor niggle though.
The heater works fine. Blows warm much sooner than my old 2.0l Omega.
The problem is that when I set it to blow air at the screen to demist, it does not come out there.
However it does come out there if I set it to 'screen' and close all the front facing vents. It is not as powerful as on my old car though, as far as I can remember.
I imagine some flaps not flapping or something like that. (note the highly technical language).
I thought I would have a look in my haynes manual for a laugh.
All I have gleaned from this is Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah,
Defroster valve vacuum unit.
Blah
Vacuum Control Circuit.
Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah,
Please see chapter 11 for help in completely destroying the dash of your car.
My questions are :
What is the likely cause ?
How would it be fixed ?
How hard will it be to get to the necessary parts?
Finally is it worth it ? bearing in mind I can still direct the air there, its just a hassle.

Do you have climate control......
-
hi, these are a bugger! i had a problem with the air not coming out of the face vents when both dials on cold and flow setting to face, but when i backed the passenger side off one click towards warmer it immediately switched the flow back down to face vents (from screen flow) might be an idea to try, i suppose the opposite? tone.

Sorry I should have said. No climate control.
I seems like it only goes to the screen when theres nowhere else to go. If I leave just one vent open at the front front it feel like all the air is coming through there.

Anyone ?

My initial reaction is a vacuum problem, but my car has climate so I probably can't help further. Sorry.

Sounds like a vac leak, look at the maintenance section for info on the vac pipe setup and check them carefuly for leaks etc.
