Title: Rocker gasket time (again)...
Post by: Liam on 28 December 2006, 16:32:46
Hi there everyone...

Gotta do my rocker gaskets again - lasted a year (10,000 miles) which aint too bad for ebay specials with black silicone instead of the vx sealant from what i've read on here  :).

This time i'm gonna do it properly and include a breather clean.  Assuming these are genuine parts - is this a good buy?...

Or can they be gotten from autovaux/trade club cheaper?  If trade club, is there anyone in the area (beds) that wouldn't mind lending me the card/getting the parts?

Cheers,

Liam

Liam, don't risk ebay ones, as you cannot guarantee genuine. Get from dealer.

The breathers are critical, and possibly reason others failed so quickly...

Let me make some enquiries, might be able to source some genuine ones at a special rate.....was able to do genuine cover seals, O rings and a tube of sealent for about 45-46 quid delivered last time.

Thanks - would be great if you could manage that!
