Title: Wobble fixed (picture)
Post by: JasonH on 28 December 2006, 20:26:50
Had a steering wheel wobble when braking from greater than 50mph. Could be quite nasty, sometimes wasn't much. Motorway slip roads were the worst.

Car didn't pull to the left or right, but the front tyres started to go on the inside edge. The front tyre that wore the worst was actually on the other side to the problem.

Checked everything: wheel play, steering idler, brake discs, anti-roll bar bushes, etc.

Eventually spotted this when the car was jacked up and the wheel was off. Looked a bit worse with the suspension pulling it down, but not that obvious.

This is the rear (vertical) wishbone bush. The wishbones were 6 months old...

Car is fine now.
