Infact it could be an OOF banger rally car! ;D
Not sure how to get it home :-/ - Trailer is not an option (cost), its such a crap advert can't even tell if its a manual or not!
Are you allowed to tow a car on a motorway? :-/

Are you allowed to tow a car on a motorway? :-/
Fairly certain you're not...
-
Yes you can......a towed car is classed as a braked trailer and hence requires no insurane (its covered 3rd party by the towing car), no tax and no MOT....if its an auto then its simply a case of removing the rubber donut from the prop at the diff end.

I stand corrected!

Where is hotel21 when you need him.
The problem is you need a valid MOT to get Tax, so how that will be seen in the eyes of the law regarding a car you just bought. And planning to self fix, i assume they still say the same regarding tax.
-
Yes thats right, my Chevette got towed up the M11 on a pole by a breakdown van (after dropping an exhaust valve head at 4000 revs! :o)
I assume the rota mechanic knew the motorway law.
Once you get it home you MUST make a SORN declaration.

Alas its at £40 now, suspect it will go for a few hundred. Still cheap though

Oh! and you are allowed to drive a car with a failed MOT to the place where it is to be mended, then to a pre-booked MOT.

Yep think so!

Sorry about stating the obvious there but you can be a bit creative with these allowances.
My record for distance between MOT fail and place of repair is 63 miles ;D
-
Times you are allowed to drive without Tax and MOT
To/From a prebooked MOT (tester's discretion on whether it's safe enough to drive away though)
To/From a place of repair for MOT failure - must be pre-booked
To/From a pre-booked SVA test (same rules on discretion, SVA obviously not really applicable to an Omega)

currently at £102 with an hour to go, reserve not met... ...probably got a silly reserve on it...
