I have an annoying problem with the offside Xenon headlight on my Meega. It is full of condensation and I was wondering if the lense comes away to allow access for me to dry it out and then I was going to re-seal the light with silicon sealant.
Ta in advance :y

Anyone tried this

Not sure, but can you remove the 'bulb' then use a hairdryer to remove the condensation, then refit?

I could but the amount of condensation is quite bad so I think its best to either try and split it clean it and seal it or buy a new one :(

Are there any cracks in it, that moisture can get in?
I think the lamps are fairly easily removed? You could take it out and the bulb, and stick it in the lamp in the airing cupboard over night? That should dry it out, then spit clean it seal it up again and hope for the best?

No cracks that I can see. I think the seal between the lens and light has come adrift somewhere. I think the best thing to do is take the headlight out and go from there but I will have to wait for the Rover to come back from having a new clutch fitted.

You can get the clear plastic lense off......you need to prise it off slowly (easing the retaining clips up as you go) and use a knife to cut the sealent, start at the sharpest radius and work away from it. Its probably worth bunging it in the airing cupboard for an hour or so first to warm the plastic and sealent a bit.
