Title: Jobs to do and part numbers required
Post by: Auto Addict on 04 January 2007, 06:27:14
Part Numbers and cost for the following please:-

Diff. Pinion Oil Seal.

O/S/F Rear Lower Arm Bush.

Rear Shock Absorbers.

Front pads and discs.

The rear shocks and front discs are non critical items as the front pads still have plenty of life on them, and I should be able to do these myself, when the better weather arrives.

Bit concerned about the diff and bush as they both look beyond my capabilities, and need to get them done ASAP, will have to find a local fitter to do these for me.

Thanks in anticipation.

Mark, has the application gone in?

TD - Pads were replaced under Network-Q warranty, but they didn't replace the discs, which I've seen for myself, they are worn.

I would take up Marks_DTM's generous offer.  I would thoroughly recommend a full geometry afterwards though, just to ensure its perfect afterwards :)

Diff seal, not something I would want to tackle without a look of guidance...

Yes, started to get some wear on inner edge of front tyre.

Diff looks frightening.

I had my pads done at 60k under Netq warranty as well......its now done 81k and my pads are pretty worn and the discs have quite a big lip on them too.....mine will soon need doing too  :(

what would you recommend - decent bushes in the original (Vx) wishbones, or cheap replacement wishbones (knowing you have a press)

Is you diff leaking AA? - Mine seams to leak about a 5 pence coins worth on a long run sometimes. Short runs and standing still its fine, its something on my list to do as well.

Maybe a diff seal changing party?  ;D

Had a good listen to the cambelt area, it's not as quiet as it should be, hot or cold.

Should I be worried? It's only done just over 2000 miles since the change.

Strangely enough, I noticed mine has just started making a noise  :o - I think it is aux tensioner, but will get 2nd opinion at weekend...
