As long as offsets are correct, and the outside diameter remains same (as this will throw out speedo etc)

i find the arches on the Omega a good size, 17" alloys fill them nicely. Peronsally i would not go higher, but thats just my opinion  :y

Too late (or too early) for exact maths, but to keep the same diameter you'll need a lower-profile tyre, which will be wider, so could rub on the inner wheel arch when laden... you could get spacers etc to push the wheel out so it does not run on the inner arch, but it may still rub on the outer... needs to be checked carefully before doing. Also 18" rubber with 40 or 35 profile don't come cheap...

Here's (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1161291277) the one with 20's on it & here's (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) a tyre size calculator.
