Title: I am now getting there
Post by: Nick on 15 January 2007, 11:54:08
Happy monday morning everyone.

I replaced the heater matrix in my car on sunday and what a git to do, near enough complete removal of the dash and a whole days work and the problem is starting to get sorted.

I now have warm air but only on the passeneger side and no the drivers, but i think that might be a cable problem.

But now it blows hot then warm, then hot and so on.

Someone told me a way to resolve this but i cannot remember or find it on the forum anywhere, so can someone please help me.

Plus i now have a airbag light up as i removed both front airbags, is there someone in the essex area who can reset this for me

Cheers Nick

You sure you got all the air out?  Hot then cold could be just that....

How do you bleed the omega, i looked for a bleed nipple but could not find one, so i just left the coolant cap off and had the heater on hot.

The pipes to the matrix are now nice and hot before one was hot and the other cold as the matrix was blocked.

I normally refill from cold, heater on the hot setting and run the car with the expansion cap off, much as you have done, until its warm on the guage.

I also make a point of 'burping' the larger size hoses - squeezing them periodically - as it all warms up.  Also, keep a check on the level, topping up as required, because as it cools down it can suck water back and take air with it sometimes.

I will bleed again this evening to see what happens.
