Title: Brake pads
Post by: JONNYWAKEY on 29 January 2007, 17:23:58
Guys

I am about to change the brake pads on my 2001 2.2CD Auto (Z22XE) Omega.

Could anyone tell me if my vehicle is fitted with the brake pad wear sensors and if so a price for a full set of replacements?

I understand there is no way to change the pads without breaking the sensors.

Cheers

Jonny

You can change the pads without changing the sensor but they become brittle and usually break.

Sensors are about £12 each..less on TC....i know my 2.2 has only one sensor but i think yours might have two on the front.....dont think there is a sensor on the rears.

Unless any can confirm definately how many sensors yours will have.....pop the front wheels off....you will see the wires if sensors on both sides.

Front Pads £22.65+vat nearly 1/2 that on TC
Rears £18.75+vat again a lot less on TC

Cheers

being a 2001, you will probably only need one sensor on the passenger side.

Mine is a 2000 and has 2, one each side.

Since your changing the pads you might as well flush the brake fluid too. (It should be done every 2 years) There is a nice guide here:

Yours will only have the one sensor on the passenger's side.
