Title: Whats the Difference??

I am searching around for a nice Omega, i have seen a MV6 which is gorgeous (not quite Pamela Anderson but still) and have also seen the Elite.. in the elite the dash has a wood finish yet the MV6 which i thought was the top of the range doesn't.
Also with the seats the MV6 has leather but the elite hadn't.. are these just extras from new?
Are the shocks and the engines the same, or is the MV6 tuned and beefed up?

the MV6 was born from the Police spec Omega's, its the sporty model. Not top of the range.

Retail MV6 have:

Stiffen Suspension.
17" alloys but they are soft as toffee
sport seats, both cloth and leather. (leather was optional extra)
dash will be carbon fibre look

Elite is the top of the range, however 2.5 V6 Elites leather was an optional extra. Only 3.0 Elites had leather as standard.

The MV6 is basically a CD spec car with sports suspension setup, carbon fiber style trim, sports seats, 17 inch wheels, climate, HID headlights....

Its NOT derived from a Police spec.....

i did not really phrase that first bit correctly.... the MV6 came about because of the Police Omega's, its spec was not derived from the police.

The MV6 was not available until 1998 (Omega was launched in 1994) it came out with police suspension plus a few toys like HID's 17" wheels for the public.

Is the car you are looking at an ex-plod one?

Ex-plod MV6 tend to be base spec

Retail Minifacelift (1998 - 2000) MV6 is similar to CDX spec, minus cruise, plus HIDs
Retail Facelift (>2000) MV6 is similar to CD spec, plus HIDs

So your saying the only parts the same are the type of engine fitted to both.
