Post by: omegaman2 on 13 September 2007, 17:08:33
i am thinking of going to belgum/france with the caravan  but drive to dover  is a drag from scotland or ferry from rosyth to zeebrugge 17hour sail but a cabin for asleep then a short drive to parc 1 is slow and cheaper  2 is costly ana relaxed   :question :-/

Done R/Z, Hull/Z and Dover/Calais.  R/Z is dearest and this year was approx £250 dearer than driving to Hull peak summer for the same service (cabin, meals etc etc) also including the difference in fuel.  Went from Hull........

However I do like the idea of leaving home for holidays and 30 minutes or so later, sitting supping first pint of Stella listening to the (not so good) cabaret 2 piece rather than a 4-5 hour drive on top if using Hull.....

Very chep option is Ramsgate Oostende, £128 return!

4hr ferry trip, but it is very commercial, but they do have cabins and night trips so you can have a kip if you want

Only prob is its a long drive down for you

Done Rosyth to Zeebrugge - and as Bruce says your Holiday kinda starts 20 minutes after leaving home, plenty to do on the superfast ferries  :) :y
