Title: Police help required
Post by: Martin_1962 on 11 September 2007, 12:00:26
Our neighbours are on holiday and have a house sitter.

They let out NDs dogs to poo in the parking area where children play, yesterday my wife asked them nicely to clean up the poo.

The refused then started having a go at my wife threatening to attack her.

Left it to this morning when we find a pile of dog poo dumped by our steps while the children were being taken to school.

Dog warden called, cow would not open door then when DW went came out and went ape. Then called the Police complaining about harrasment.

My wife called, found out the cow had called but no new news.

What do our esteemed Police members suggest?

Pity none live near Worcester!

Contact Police to advise re. threats.  Witnesses to confirm your side?
Contact Dog Warden to advise what transpired when they left.
Contact Enviromnental Health re. dog poo left on your premises.

Ultimately, probably that little will be done so best not to escalate matter into a full scale war of words or dog poo slinging......

Best advise is to let the matter wash over you and resolve with neighbours when they return, particularly if they are paying for house sitters through an agency.

Well you know if you was a little sick and twisted you could leave a nice human poo on her bonnet with a polite note stating next time the dogs poo on the car park the next poo wont be left on the car.!!

However tit for tat is never the answer.... ;D

We wil be leaving the poo for our neighbour to deal with when he gets home, my wife used to work in a solicitors and wants a restraining order placed on her.

I want to ask her to lay off by being polite as she seems very wary of me, but video her when she flies off the handle.

why oh why dont people have decency in themselves anymore?

i see people everyday walking their dogs round the estates where they live, they wear gloves and carry disposable cloths and bags to collect up what their dogs leave behind

i shant say what measures i'd take if a neighbour left a steaming turd on my premises, but it wouldn't be pretty and hell it wouldn't be fair, but i'd enjoy it! bearing in mind it would always be a very last resort after every possible reasonable approach failing

Just be careful Martin, yes we support you, but as Brucie says tit for tat often just aggrivates the wrong `uns. Id be wary of video recording her.

As hard as it may seem try to just let it pass.... :y :)

Do you have long till your neighbours are back?

Unfortunately not all dog owners are responsible  >:(

I always carry two 'dog poop' bags when i take Holly out......just in case.
Tho she usually manages to wait until we've got into woods.....and ive trained her not to poop on the footpaths in the woods.....she goes off into the undergrowth to have a poop.

It seems to me that this house sitter is irresponsible and (worse still), a bit of a loose cannon.

Speaking as a police officer, if I were in this position, I would keep my head low and let it pass.  It's not as though she is going to be living next door forever.

More to the point, there is likely to be insufficient evidence to pursue an harassment complaint.  If you let the police arrest her, she'll only be in the nick for a few hours before being released.  If she can get so worked up about a simple polite request, what's she going to be like after being arrested.

The long and short of it is.....  is it worth the bother.  Sadly, the Criminal Justice System ain't gonna sort this person out.  If it were my family asking for advice, I'd tell them what I've just put here.

It's all about proving the issue in court,  what would she get if convicted anyway?  Community punishment order?  Minor fine?  Might even get a caution.

Well some more news - she phoned us during the night 3 times minimum but I unplugged hence thats it. The Police saw her today, if she hassles us anymore she could lose her job through conflict of interests ;D ;D

She complained to the Police about my videoing of her yesterday morning (didn't get any as she didn't get stupid). But my wife explained that the previous morning she had dumped dog poo by our path.

The poo is still there if it is there when next door get back from holiday I will make him clean it up.

There are 4 poos in 3 clumps in our area, double one with flies on next to our path, and two on opposites path (by where I park).

Anyway I have just wasted £4 on blocking anomous calls!

All this because the woman would not clean up dog poo she allowed dogs to do.

My advice is this.

Get as much evidence as possible.
Get the dog warden.
Police in general need a big kick to get them involved.
Don't let them catch you getting evidence.

Do not be afraid to drop them in it. If she had lost her job I would not have been in the slightest bothered!

Now what can I do with these dog poos she won't pick up?

Anyone lone me a golf club?
