Title: Service, and MPG
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 16 February 2007, 09:43:28
The 2.0 is using a fair more fuel than I'd like it to. I know they are not great, but it should be doing more than 23mpg being careful with it. (Based on what I've put in and mileage, not computer)

I'm wondering how big a difference it will make, if I clean out the breather system fully, clean the throttle body and ICV, change the plugs, fuel filter, oil and filter and air filter??

Any other pointers for increasing MPG?

Give it a real good service and see what happens then...

On my 12 mile drive to work I used to average low 20s, on long runs quite a bit more.

Tyre pressures are critical as well.

Make sure you get it over 50mph as it uses less fuels over that
