Title: Track Rod Ends - Prices
Post by: Chopsdad on 23 February 2007, 21:24:26
My track rod ends are shot and need replacing - anyone know of a good supplier?  :-?

I found 1 on Ebay for a tenner - VX original -  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OMEGA-TIE-ROD-END-PASS-SIDE-NEW-GEN-VAUX-90510651_W0QQitemZ230093563944QQihZ013QQcategoryZ10404QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Trouble is I need 2  >:(  So should I buy that one and get another from VX (are they really £44?) or plump for matching pattern parts from local motor factors?

Probably worth changing the drop links too - so buying advice here also appreciated  :y

Cheers

Local factors.

Is it worth just replacing the inner track rod end or fitting a complete assembly?

I found this on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Steering-Tie-Rod-LH-Omega_W0QQitemZ200076731884QQihZ010QQcategoryZ10404QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

or here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vauxhall-omega-B-1994-2003-track-tie-rod-new-part_W0QQitemZ330053451277QQihZ014QQcategoryZ10404QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Is it worth going the whole hog or do the other ends not fail as often?  I just thought it would save paying out for tracking twice.

Thanks Max, I've just had a reply from the Ebay seller £85 for two track tie rods, two droplinks and next day delivery.  I noted thier telephone number and its the same company as you suggested  ;D  Still waiting on Autovaux to reply >:(  So I'll call VSC tomorrow and get the wagon rolling.
