Title: Wheel Bolts - They're off!
Post by: VXL V6 on 14 September 2007, 22:43:57
Just to bore everyone.....

As you may all know I couldn't get the dam locknuts off my car, I first tried just before I went on my hols (Only had the car a few months), since then, i've bought a new key and removed one, MDTM got his airgun on them and managed to get another one off and the final two were removed with the aid of two mechanics, one break off sammy sledgehammer, five drill bits, a scaffold pole, every known swear word known to man and one thumb hit with sammy.....

Now i'm seriously considering supergluing the rather things to the local kwik fit window!

How about inserting them in the KwikFit Fitter who tightened them?  :o

Many moons ago I got mine off by ramming a slighly undersized socked onto the bolt to gain purchase...but I bet you tried that too.

Hooray for you  :y

They were put on before I had the car so don't know who's responsible, can only say that I was a bit concerned going on holiday knowing that if I had a puncture the car would have to be trailored away..... Had a tin of tireweld in the boot as that's all I could do.

Now I can finally get the wheels off and check the brakes properly (The fronts look to have new discs and pads) and I can also check that the spare set I bought a while ago are all ok and not buckled.
