Whilst having a poke around today after taking of the plenum i found this small pipe that looks like it's borken off from somewhere, i had a good look but couldn't fnd anywhere that looked like it was missing something

Is it actually supposed to go anywhere and if so where.

Thats the main vac feed for the multiram etc......comes off the brake servo pipe at the rear left of the engine bay
-
Don't suppose it would have anything to do with my previous post about the dash vents not really working properly would it?
-
Yes it would....it explains it nicely.....needs fixing...

Just had another look and the pipe coming off the brake servo does indeed have a little knobbly bit on it, however it looks a very awkward fit considering there is already another 90 degree bend coming off little more than an inch away.
Just want to verify this is actually where it goes and then i'll have to knock something together to make it stay on

Thats the spot......the best you can do is cut a 1 inch length of the small stiff breather pipe off somewhere where it can be spared, drill the broken section out using a drill of the same diameter as the breather pipe then insert the cut section and re-enforce around the outside using epoxy.....I wouldn't put any on the pipe as you insert it as its very easy to clog them up....
-
personally I'd rob a servo vacuum pipe from a breakers
-
just block off the hole where its broken out of , then put a t piece into the other pipe thats shown and connect both to that one ? yes its shared vacuum but i bet it wont make a blind bit of difference !!

Done a repair on my vacuum system last week. The inlet to the vac tank had broken and used a piece of brake pipe and epoxy to repair, then filled the hole with silicone sealer.

Works OK, no problems.
Done the same with the pipe at the multiram.

Its like a different car now that everything works as it should. Just take care to ensure that the holes not blocked.

Saw this done a time or two at the Cambelt Party by the "Master of Improvisation" ;) :y

Sorted it today with a small piece of copper pipe and some milliput, everything works as it should now....

Can someone tell me where this pipe goes exactly? I've still got the rubber elbow bit coming off of the brake servo pipe but there is nothing plugged into it - I've had to tape it up to get it to idle properly...
Thanks,
Chris.
