Title: Thanks to TheBoy this weekend...
Post by: tunnie on 15 September 2007, 20:52:37
Well my dads 2.2 had its head gasket done last weekend on the saturday, thanks to JamesV6  :y

But on the Sunday it developed a horrid squeek rev related, which even occured with the aux belt and crankpully off.

Jaime tracked it down to the back plate, behind the cam sprockets.  It was missing torx bolts to hold it back, funny cause last weekend we found those bolts and put them down to 'spares'  ;D

So thanks to Jaime for popping over and getting that sorted for me. As a thanks i jet washed his tractor and gave it some fresh drinking water   :)

No probs...

As to the jet wash - you missed a huge bit down the side ;D  I may have to give it a proper sponge job....    ....nah... ;D

What was funny, though, was you removing the block drain bolt -  8 odd litres of pretty warm coolant all over you ;D

Hummmm yes and not really funny since i asked 'Will i get wet?' = reply came no....

When the coolant burst out at massive speed i was a little shocked to say the least.... you did not belive me when i said it was hot, but you found out later...  ;)

Btw i may not be able to go to the scrappy tommorow

I've never got particularly wet doing it...

As to funny...   ...well, it made me smile ;D

Seriously though, thanks for doing the coolant...   :y    ...not sure if you noticed the state of my drive when you picked up the tech2, but can't use jack or axle stands at moment  :'(

Oil on tarmac does tend to melt it  :(

But if you have a big enough sheet of plywood or chipboard (and thick enough) you should get away with it  :y

Trouble is, it needs the wheels to on it as well (the tractor sits quite low - at least as low as MV6, possibly more so)...
