The large breather pipe, that splits in two, had one of those clips at the base. Took me forever to get off and now I'm having trouble getting it back on! Is this present on all engines and is it essential? Pipe seems fine without it but would worry that it is required for another reason. The small pipes did not have any clips.
Cheers

~The small ends on mine all had jubilee clips on, can you not put a jubilee clip on the large end of the pipe?

Thanks for that. I managed to get it back on, but the jubilee clip idea is perfect! Don't have any tho but will make sure I get some for the next time :-[
Cheers again :y

The single end of that pipe just has the simple molegrips/pliers type....

It was just so difficult to get at, as my hands now bear witness!!! :'( Very little room to manoeuvre pliers etc.
All done now though. Managed to tear the single breather pipe too, when taking it off the vent pipe!! :-[About 1/2 inch ripped off the end but it was still long enough to be used.
I know it probably shouldn't make any noticeable difference, and it was only being done as a preventative measure before doing the cam gaskets, but it does feel better or smoother. I guess it's all in the mind ;D
