Title: Replaced Manifold But Found Knacked bit
Post by: Craig_R on 24 March 2007, 20:39:47
Hiya Chaps Changed over my Exhaust Manifold went really well.

But Found when i took the secondary air injector i checked it by doing the suck test and it was knacked could suck or blow the valve with no difference (shown in the image with the red outline.)

Lucky for Me I took the Secondary Air injector rail and one way valve with the Exhaust Manifold from the scrappy so i changed it over.

What does this valve do?
Would it of damage the plastic bit shown with the blue arrow if the hot gasses got to it with the one way valve being knacked.

The valve stops the hot exhaust gases getting to the plastic valve you show....if they do.....they could melt it!

Did everything else go ok with the change....

Yep I got It changed over pretty Quick, With the Help Of my GF's brother

Its Still alittle to noisey under load so ill be changing the backbox and if its still noisey the middle section will soon follow, if then its still loud ill look at the CAT, Asked VX today about the backbox and middle section and it was 150 quid which i thought was ok But i asked about the CAT Price and with an exchange of my old one its 370 plus 30 to remove mine so 400 Quid for the CAT OUCH OUCH

I guess the plastic stuff could be damaged then shown by the blue arrow, What does it do the plastic Valve shown by the blue arrow is it important ?
