I think my ABS box is up the duff (see my other posts). I have been offered a replacement from a slightly older car. I would like to know if it is compatable.

The last part of my VIN starts with an "X", but the unit of offer comes from a car that is a "V".

Even though it is an older car, will it work?

 No.

Does it have to be an "X" or newer then?

Does it have to be an "X" or newer then? 'W' onwards had a different ABS systems, more advanced.  Additionally, some have TC, some don't.  Safest way is to get one with same Ident code...

Paulus, I may be able to help in a few days.

I am going to be breaking a 1998 3.0 Elite. I will check the compatability...
