Title: nightmare in getting a spare key done....
Post by: sir moanalot on 07 April 2007, 09:46:36
im wondering whether im ever gonna get a spare key sorted. i bought a NEW key from vauxhall stealers then purchased a key/immobilisor code card. i took both to a guy who programmes keys, but after putting the chip in the key and setting the device it kept on stating access denied to the ecu? anyone know what the problem is likely to be? he has written down the details and will be contacting vaux direct for any further info.

Duff chip? I bought a new key from a dealer for my wife's Astra and the chip that came with the key wouldn't play games. Another chip was obtained and all was OK.

If its a Tech2, it needs to be Level 1 authorised by TIS ;)

When I bought the car 5 years ago, the dealer (not Vx) apologised and said they only had one key. So as soon as I got the car I went to Vx and had a second key done for £80  :'(. A week late an envelop from the car dealer arrived in the post with the second key... apparently they found it  ;D

If you got the key and security pass from Vx, why not just let them program it...?
