Title: Which ABS module do I have?
Post by: The Barge Captain on 11 April 2007, 19:02:26
How do I tell whether I have a 3 channel or 4 channel ABS module?  Just been checking the manual, and it helpfully only refers to early or late models.  I can't go and have a look right now as Mrs Barge Captain has taken the car to work.  Is there an easily identifiable plate or something on it?  I only need to know in order to get the bleed sequence correct.

What year is your car? AFAIK the 4-way ABS came in with the mini-facelift in 1998. My previous 1997 still had the 3-way one.

I'm doing a 97 mini facelift and a 98 mini as well.  Lucky me. :-/

If the last letter in the VIN is W (or later) then its mini facelift with fully independent ABS.
