Title: Breathers
Post by: Burti on 12 April 2007, 23:09:00
Hi Again,

I am going to change the rocker cover gaskets this weekend, but I read a post some where on here, that when you change your Rocker cover, don't forget to clean the breathers.

This may be a stupid question but is there a good way to clean the breathers and does anyone know how many there is on the 2.5 V6 petrol ?

Thanks again ;)

Hi there,

Take a look in the maintenance guides section, on this forum, page 3 or so I think.  Good advice on both gaskets and breathers.

Cheers,

Jon

There are also instructions for removing the plenum which I found intimidating before reading it.
But its straightforward - just a fair few connections.    Take some photos before you dismantle - will help you get things in the right place when you put it back together.
Cheers
Ian

Being a 2.5 yours will be a bit different - just a single black plastic unit under the clipon Ecotec bit, but principle is still the same.   Just be patient and make sure you have plenty of carb cleaner.

Quite right, I forgot I have the 'long plenum' version... 2.6/3.2L, as well as some 3.0L from around 1999 onwards.

And, iirc, you have to remove throttle body on short plenums...
