I use a 10mm spanner on the bolt......you need to push down on the power steering pipe to get the last few turns out.

Then grip the transfer pipe and twist it whilst wiggling it....it should then pop out....

Can't shift with E whatever socket, 10mm ring or open end (jumps) or next size down (3/8")

Any other ideas?

I am going to have to reassemble without changing the thermostat and then decide what to do - I can't get it apart and I need it.

I undid the power steering reservoir and moved it forward and then managed to get an 8mm socket on a 1/4inch ratchet in.
