Didn't wear my Omega Owners Forum shorts, as Mark does in the DVD ::).. However all went to plan, cambelt and waterpump all done n' dusted, was in no rush, got it timed up, smack on... it's a lovely job to do, especially with the propper kit! Can't see how folks have proclaimed to do this in less than 4 hours though.. even with the addition of an oil change (10 mins) 10:00 'til 15:00 & only 10 mins for a butty n' cuppa... anyway all done... ONCE AGAIN, can I express, the DVD is a must, even for the competent mechanic, sure is a confidence booster....
When yours is due, GO FOR IT !!! :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y
(DON'T FORGET THE DVD - LESS THAN A FIVER)

Well done m8, always a good feeling when you done a job right yourself :y
-
It's just me having a Laarf! It just tickles me that he's mechanicing in his shorts.... Maybe they really are OOF shorts.... I've watched the DVD many times, Not only to get the gist of doing the job, BUT, I was contemplating pirating a pair of OOF shorts ;D ;D ;D ;D
He'll bloody kill me if ever we meet!!!! :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
-
just had an image of shorts with the web address plastered across them!

Gonna be really careful here, but, saw a girlie recently with "Bitch" written accross her A55.... She had "ROVER" written on her pet dog ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Any suggestions as to what we could have written on our OOF shorts....
Debate OPEN !

gawd knows, suppose it depends on where exactly we put whatever design/idea
I used to print on clothing in my last job

Nice one DC, you saved yourself about £300 there :y
Your all ready now then for the trip up to the lakes ;)
-
I dont think having OOF on a pair of shorts is a good idea, it could be mistaken for HOOF and you could get a kick up the aris or even worse the gonads :o

That reminds me of the time when i had my Amiga 500+ and a disk that said - 'Outrun disk 2 - VIRUS DO NOT USE!' If ya know what i mean! ;D
But on a serious note - i do want to part with a fiver for the chance to save £300 notes on a cambelt change!

1: Yes it does, with the Sykes Pickavant and the Sealey.. Can't speak for the rest...
2: No, I paced myself to check everything twice as I was doing the job, assisted by my 13 year old son.... Truth be told, he could have done it under supervision..
Did manage to break a tube off the Vacuum Box, which is attached to the bottom of the inlet trumpets.. made a temp fix, all running fine though... going to the scrappers to try to source a new one... Timing is crucial, so turning the engine several times at various points in the timing adjustment makes a very accurate setting... I made sure that mine was BANG ON !! :exclamationDon't guess the torque settings either... Found one of my back plate bolts, finger tight... VX did it last 43K ago !!!!!!!!!! :exclamation
Go on, Have a go,

I was fortunate enough to get a second hand Sykes Pickavant off e-bay... one of the lads on here was selling it and he dropped the details in a thread.... Halfords had used to sell S&P stuff, but don't anymore.... I think I read that Wheelchairkid, on here, bought one for £50 or so only last week.... have a look on recent threads..
If we can help in any way, just shout................
