Hi can anyone help i`ve just finished an engine change(1st one ever) every thing is back where its meant to
be a freshly charged battery but i have no power at all, i`ve checked every thing i can think of.
I have a cd estate but the other engine was from gls saloon does this make any differance????????
Thanks pete

Earths? Blown fuses in positive distrubution box? Flat bettery ;)
You'll have to go round with a meter?
-
ecus and fobs also swapped i presume?
-
hi no ecus hav`nt been changed, which ones have to be done and
where are they.
Thanks pete

well...only ever done 1 engine swap and not on anything as sophisticated as an omega ( 1.4 rover) and i swapped over the ecu wthout even thinking.
Though thinking about it now it really shouldnt make a difference...so scrap that idea...when you say no power i guess its not even cranking ( no dash lights?) tried a jump start to firstly rule out the battery?

HI battery was fully charged over night, there`s no power what so ever to the car,
:'(
-
I'd check all the earths are secure :y
-
Is it on the right way round....are the 0V cables connected to the chassis (just below rear left of battery tray) and engine (between the power steering pump and aircon pump on V6)
-
hi has someone got a picture of a cd 2.5 V6 engine bay for reference
Thanks pete

Hi all sorted the car i took the engine out of had the battery the other way round so
it had a shorter earth lead and would reach, so i`ve changed the earth lead and now
its all ok, and its running :y
It feels good DIY
Thanks Pete

Do you still need an engine-bay picture? I got plenty...

Cheers Pete
