Title: Sun blind
Post by: miggy on 24 April 2007, 11:06:51
Got the chance of a rear parcel shelf and electric sunblind to fit in my 2002 2.2 DTI GLS, is it possible to do this and has anyone done this, how would I find the wiring instructions. I have notice a wiring loom in the boot with a connector on the end, the wires are not speaker wires.
The blind and shelf are off a facelift so it should be the same mounting points??

 :)

not too sure on this but if you wanted to use the cars wiring you should have a connector where the button goes (underneath the hazard warning switch); if you dont have one there i doubt you could wire it in the existing loom; this has been done before; i would do a search on this site.

but i cant see retro-fitting being too difficult...

I'm not too sure about the wire loom, i'd of thought that you'd have it in place??  not a big job if it isn't.

I'm interested in the blind itself, in that how the blind is stored when down?  Does it roll up at all?

I would like to do this mod to my MV6 later in the year, alhtough i'm not too sure if my LPG tank behind the rear seats will be in the way....

The blind all sits above the metal shelf you can see in boot, so does not encrouch into boot at all (except 3 bolts)
