I'm pretty sure I don't, but how do you tell?
-
If everything looks to you like this:

Then yes, you've got LSD... ;D
-
Sorry, you probably figured-out that i don't actually know the answer, but someone else might... :-[
-
lol, I know I do, I was wondering about the car tho ;)
-
Its unlikely, the only sure fire way to find out is to change the diff oil and look at the internals..
In theory there is a marking on the bottom of the diff....but, I am yet to see one with it still there...

With viscous LSDs you can jack up both rear wheels with the car in neutral, spin one rear wheel and the other will spin in the same direction (as if they are connected through the diff). Without an LSD the other wheel will either spin in the opposite direction or not at all.
But the Omega's is a plate LSD so I am unsure whether this test would work...

It doesn't work.....
-
... there is another test! On a private test track ;) pull away rapidly from a standstill whilst adding steering lock. Have an observer watch what happens from a safe distance. If the inside wheel spins it's not an LSD, or it's knackered. If the back end breaks away completely without excessive inside wheel spin it's probably a LSD.
Can also try a rapid start in a straight line and see if it leaves 2 rubber streaks or just one.

i like the full lock test!!!!!! very good and true...
as for spinning one wheel and seeing if other moves .... as said earlier no it doens't work....
if you pull away hard leaving either 1 mark or 2 ... sort of as my omega left 2 without a LSD as does my BMW as its all to do with load.... so not sure thats best way.....
there should be a tag (yeah right) on bottom of diff you need numbers off that........... or as said take diff back plate off and have a look..... or you can even tell if you take drive shafts out and look through the diff.........
As you look through it if thre is 1 shaft size of a pencil then NO but if you can see 2 Shafts then YES!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a coulple phone movies of me "SEEING IF I HAD A LSD OR NOT " ha ha :-X
but in actual fact the easiest waS IS to go to a car park EMPTY one oh and PRIVATE CARPARK IDEALLY YOUR OWN!!!???? maybe :-?......... under the cover of darkness stick it on full lock and floor it if you start spinning aROUND ON THE SPOT THEN YES YOU HAVE............. if inside wheel spins only then NO you dont :'( - not very technical but works a treat ;D
-
Hmmm, no tag (what a surprise). I'm going to have to try the car-pa... errr... I mean private test track suggestion.
Hmmm, wonder when Toys'R'us private test track will be empty....
-
get to it boy!! ;)
-
but if you dont have an LSD you can always do this :o

Here's a wild guess:
If you jack-up one rear wheel, then switch of TC, put in gear and rev the engine - if no LSD, the wheel on the jack should turn freely while the other is firmly on the ground. :y
On the other hand, if you have LSD, then wheel on the ground will also start rotating (albeit at a much lower speed then the jacked-up wheel) and er... the car will fall of the Jack and fly forward... or something... so maybe not such a good idea... :-[
So perhaps not a very practical test but as a matter of principal I think this would prove LSD / no-LSD? :o
-
A safe way to do the above test might be to park up with one wheel on an area of low traction, a grass verge by the side of the road, for example, while the other wheel is on tarmac, switch off the TC and pull away swiftly.

LMAO!
I think I'll stick to trying the steering lock and dumping the clutch test first. Maybe I'll try your way if I'm still not sure...... ;)
but if you dont have an LSD you can always do this :o
I'm sure that pic means something to some people, but to me it's just some bits of metal.... :-[

And if I leave a wheelspin mark in the grass then I don't have a LSD right?
-
I GOT ANOTHER WAY!!!!
watch this video!!!!!!!!!!!!! of my omega before i did anything to it ..... just wheels.....
I WAS SEEING IF I HAD A LSD...errrrrr sort of.....
Do what i do and see if you can see 2 black marks not 1 :y :-? :P

I guess if I don't have a LSD then I would only need to replace one tyre.... ;)
-
YOU GOT IT IN 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
LMAO :'(
