Title: MID, how to reset?

Hi,

I got an MID off another car but it isn't set up for mine, it keeps telling me that i've got 380 miles if I put in 20 litres of fuel from empty, this goes down as I drive but never below 250 miles? Need reset or what??

I am afraid it needs recalibration using Tech II.

Did the MID come off a 2.0l by any chance ;)

It needs a chat with a real Tech2 I'm afraid....

What year was yours and the donor? Did they have same gearbox? If post 98, did they have similar tyre sizes?

Mine is 1997, S and R reads - 008 07 24328

If yours is a pre minifacelift one (ie, radio info at top, computer info below), then its got all the hallmarks of being programmed for a 1.8 or 2.0 Veccy-B

Needs a Tech2 to adjust its config. Its the same hardware between the cars, and actually the same software as well, but its variant code is different (the software uses the variant code to adjust its readings)
