Hi, folks
I am looking to try and sharpen up the steering by replacing the wishbones, droplinks etc at the front as they are a bit worn after a hardlife with the police. I am looking on ebay as I have a limited budget...
Would anybody be able to me what else I may need to replace at the front...That would be within my DIY expertise? and will not cost the earth. :y
Many thanks Karl

Drop links are only required if they are knocking.....they dont realy wear, just fail.
Steering idler arm is worth considering
Its also worth possibly tweeking any play out of the steering box.
-
Wow that was a quick reply, cheers :y
Would any body be able to show me what the steering idler arm looks like?
I am at college today and do not have access to my car or the book of lies, My trackrod ends are looking nasty as well...would they be worth while replacing do you think?
MDTM is there a how 2 on "tweaking" the steering box?
Sorry for the Questions Karl

Steering idler:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Steering-Arm-110mm-Omega-Carlton_W0QQitemZ200091634353QQihZ010QQcategoryZ10404QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem
Replace track rods if they have play in them.....or if you are feeling flush (there not pricey but, its all extra cost)
I will look at doing a steering box tweak maintenance guide as there isnt one....

Thanks for the link, is the idler relatively easy to do? :-/
Thanks karl

If there is no real play anyway, consider geometry (proper full geometry). After http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk did my MV6, the steering was much tighter/better bite.
-
Try a lever under the anti-roll bar, near the bushes. If there is any free movement then replace the bushes, they arnt expensive and are on trade club at present.

That is not a bad idea...I will make inquiries at the weekend to see if there is anyone local to me that can do it other than vauxhall...
