I need help! I have got to stop this at once.
Anyway, possible project. It is a 1998 R-reg 2.5CD Estate auto. Everything you can think of has been done, wishbones, drop links, rockers, new exhaust, tyres etc. New MoT. then...... cambelt snapped! I really fancy a go at this. Skim the heads, new valves and valve seals, new head gaskets and of course a new cambelt. Job done.
OK, so I am over simplifying it a bit, but I do fanbcy ago at areal project before I hand up my mechanics gloves.

Valve guides will also be kanckered so I would get a second hand set of heads.

GeffD 's away so isnt around to contradict me.....find another pair of heads, clean them up then get them into a nice warm kitchen to lap the valves, replace the stem seals and fit manifolds before venturing out to swap them over.
The valve guides will be cracked, Geff says he has never had problems with this but the thought that a piece of guide could move and jam a valve open isnt acceptable to me.
