Hi there.
Do you think that changing the front wheels from a 205\65\15 to a 195/70/15 on the mega will make it lighter to steer, I can only use one arm and find it a bit on the heavy side. I have changed the bones and idler, had the tracking don, drop links to do. P/S seems to be ok, I think it's just a Vauxhall thing as the Carlton I had was the same. If I do put on the 195\70’s will they fit the rims and will I loos some height or couse other probs.
Great site everybody
Thanks

If the 205's are a standard fit from factory then your biggest problem will your insurance should be unfortunate enough to have an accident, as going under size gives them a get out clause. IMO.

That sounds about right Dazzler, What if you let them know!

If I remember correctly, only the V6 had the 'servotronic' PAS - now the reason I am saying this is that on the V6 PAS you can actually set the level of assitance using Tech2, but I am not sure if this is a feature that is also available for the 2.0. TheBoy...?

They will say you can't go below the manufactures recommended size....i think, only better than. :-/

I changed my size from 225x55x16 to 235x40x18, i rang my insurance (Norwich Union) and due to the modification as they call it, it cost me an extra £42.00 per year which is not bad.
How many young lads out there with these mods have not informed their insurance companies.
If the insurance companies can get out of a claim, they will.
I strongly advise you to inform them, if you have an accident, god forbid, you can be assured they would not cover you
:y :y
Whoooops, I think this should have gone in the general chat.

Does it get lighter if you rev the engine a little?
Get the pressures up near maximum rather than lower
No adjustment on the 2.0

Only 6 cylinder engines (petrol and diesel) have the electronically adjustable Servotronic PAS...

Thank for all the feedback, I shall take it all on board. I will start with the insurance Co. and go from there. Yes I have heard of the V6 adjustable power steering, are the 2.5 diesel the same, and no diference when with more revs, so pump is o.k.
Thank again
Lyn.
Yes I think that this post should have been in general chat, Sorry, I will try and move. or if someone els can!!
