oh i paid 780 for it with a years mot i think its well worth it....but it makes a slight noise on start up kind of a squeek in time with engine but it only lasts for a couple of minutes then goes...the car runs great with evreything working apart from drivers heated seat.

Hi, and welcome to the forum, before anyone else says it, if you don't have documented proof that the cambelt AND tensioners have been done within the last 40,000 miles, get them done as soon as possible.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum.the lights were changed by vx due to complaints by customers of poor light output from std units.98 model year on.up grading the bulbs helps but the only real way to improve things is to fit later projector style lamps.

Ref the noise,it could be the secondary air pump which runs for a couple of mins on start up.I could also be the aux belt pulley.take the power st belt off and run for a short while if no noise the pulley u/s.If any doubts on the cam belt then change asap.
Gary.

To fit HIDs you'll have to go the full hog and also get the self-levelling sensor installed in the front nearside suspension - probably more trouble than it's worth. But fitting standard post-minifacelift (i.e. 1998-2000) lamps will help - as said the latter type were much better even in standard guise.
