Title: automatic gearbox fault code

hi just come home in car 3.0l v6 elite estate put my foot down slightly and car kicked down aggresivly then went into get you home mode , turned engine off and back on and cleared its self  seems ok now anyone got any ideas cheers guys  :y

What year is it, you need to post the fault codes.

Try the 'Paper Clip Test' in the FAQ section.

When you say "limp home mode" did it give "gearbox fault" on the display, or did the EM light come on?
I am hoping the latter....

Paper clip test on an auto AA?

I would do the usual to start...

1) Check the fluid level (see maintenance guide section)
2) Consider a fluid change.
