Title: Built in time delay
Post by: Entwood on 11 September 2007, 23:41:21
In view of the sad, uncomfortable, and IMHO, unneccesary departure from the forum of an upset member this evening, in a situation which appeared to go from bad to worse in 4.5 seconds - and as the person has "left" is apparently now unresolvable - may I humbly suggest that a built in time delay of at least 24 hours becomes standard between the request for removal and it actually occuring.

This would allow a "rethink" period, if no contact was made then the removal goes ahead. I fully accept that folks wish to leave, but the old adage of "post in haste, repent at leisure" seems to apply and a little added time might alleviate things

Just my thoughts

poosibly, but seeing as users can delete their account at any time....   ....also in this case, we were specifically asked twice to remove, so like to do so as soon as we can once confirmed.

I agree, if someone wants to leave, their decision must be honoured.
