James fitted new vauxhall cam cover gaskets for me when i came to Brackley's cambelt party at Tunnies. But they are leaking once again in the spark plug wells :-? I have checked the breathers again both the small hole and the bigger one on the breather body which seem ok also the the breather hoses are clear too. I have checked that the cover bolts are still at 8nm and they are.... Anyone got any ideas????? :y

... possibly warped cam covers?

Would the oil just leak into the spark plug wells if the cam covers had warped, orwould they leak anywhere else too?? :y

Warped covers, mateing surface not clean enough, did you clean out the plenum and the breather box as well?? :-/

Haven't got that far to putting it all back together yet ;D
going to get the sealer now and gaskets from Vauxhall, but i was going to give everything a dam good clean out and see what then happens regarding the oil in the spark plug wells...

Did the cover and gaskets get smeared in instant gasket sealer? That will help stop the oil from leaking out and leaking into the plug wells. This is common if the gaskets are not sealed properly.

I was under the impression that gasket sealer was only used on 90 degree angles and the semi circle at the back of Cam Covers :-?
