How do you know when the cats are shot on a car? What are the tell tale signs?
-
AN MOT failure ticket swiftly followed by a large garage bill ;)

On the 2.5 the lambda sensors are before the cats so cat failure shouldn't affect the running of the car at all (unless they're blocked).
Failure should only show up as an emissions problem when you have an MoT.
