Title: Black fluff all over my seats
Post by: Martin_1962 on 30 May 2007, 18:44:28
VAX didn't shift it and my seat is still a bit grubby (and was wet this morning >:().

So what is the best way to defluff the seats, takes quite a bit of rubbing as well

Get one of those rollers that are used to remove fluff from clothes.  I have seen them in cheap shops - you may well need a couple to do the seats though..

They may not be 'industrial' enough. I seem to remember seeing a 'razor' type thingy that shaves fabrics :-/

i used the beard trimmer on my old electric razor to shave a patch of bobbles that appeared on my jumper after i'd used a little too much force trying to clean a pot noodle spill off it!!

looked as good as new!!

Our neighbour has a kind of roller thing for getting rid of their golden retriever hairs off clothes, furnitire etc.  Its like a roll of sellotape inside out and you can tear bits off when they are full/not sticky any more.  Maybe a pet shop would sell them?

If it's surface debris like hairs etc then good old brown wide packaging tape turned inside out and wrapped around your hand will lift it.

I have carefully used a couple of the BIC throwaway razors with good effect in the past.  Best though was the original metal razor that you unscrewd and replaced the single blade.  You know the type, where screwing the thing back together flexes the blade into shape.  Not great for shaving with, but certainly got the fluff bobbles away!
